How long is the Manual Handling course Perth?

The course is a half-day (4-hour) practical training session. Mondays from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

What are the course fees for Manual Handling training?

The standard course fee is $125 per person, with a discounted rate of $85 available for nursing students.

Given it is a half-day course, bundle packages are available to make best use of the day, including combinations with CPR training.

How long is a Manual Handling certificate valid?

There’s no strict expiry date on your Manual Handling certificate, but most aged care, disability and healthcare employers expect staff to renew their training every 12 months to keep skills and technique current. Check with your employer for their specific requirements. 

How often do I need a Manual Handling refresher?

No. Manual Handling is a non-accredited half-day short course, so you’ll receive a Bestwest Care certificate of completion rather than a nationally recognised formal qualification. 

Are there any prerequisites for the Manual Handling course?

There are no formal entry requirements for this Manual Handling course. As it includes hands-on practical training, you’ll need to be reasonably fit and physically capable of taking part on the day. 

Is the Manual Handling course fee-free in WA?

No. This Manual Handling course is a fee-for-service half-day short course priced at $125 per person ($85 for nursing students), payable upon booking. WA Government Fee-Free funding applies to eligible accredited qualifications, such as our Certificate III in Individual Support and Certificate IV in Mental Health, not to this short course.
