Enrolment Requirements:
All nationally recognised first aid qualifications require participants to have a basic level of physical capability in order to meet the performance evidence requirements.
You are required to provide uninterrupted cardio pulmonary resuscitation on an adult and infant manikin over a period of two minutes, and be able to respond to an emergency situation where there may be a risk to life.
If a candidate is unable to meet the physical requirements, cannot perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the required standards, a nationally recognised statement of attainment cannot be issued. A certificate of participation will still be issued to the unsuccessful candidate.
Successful completion of a first aid course will provide you with a good basis to progress to other more advanced courses.
As an Elective Unit
This HLTA1D011 Provide First Aid course is offered as an elective unit for our CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, and CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure & Health.
In these instances, the course can be completed as a combination of take-home theory and one-day practical application in class.
These classes are appropriate for all industries and community groups, and courses can be conducted at individual workplaces or venues if minimum numbers and appropriate facilities are available.
