HLTAID009 Provide CPR
CPR training and refresher courses in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
Most victims of sudden cardiac arrest will die before they reach the hospital. It has however, been proven that if more people knew CPR, many of these victims could be saved. By completing a CPR training course and performing CPR on a heart attack victim, you could double their chances of surviving the attack. That’s right, just two hours of your life and you could save someone else’s. CPR will form part of any First Aid course, but if you don’t have time, a two-hour CPR course will suffice, in the meantime.
While we encourage all adults to complete at least a first aid course. Even if you just do a CPR course, you never know whose life you could end up saving.
We currently offer regular CPR training at our Kwinana Training Centre from 2:00pm to 4:00pm every Tuesday. We can also provide workplace training on request.
For enquiries and bookings please contact us.
What is CPR?
CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is the technique of chest compressions combined with rescue breathing.
Carrying out CPR as a part of basic life support may lead to saving someone’s life. Training in CPR allows you to manually preserve brain function until specialised treatment becomes available.
You are not required to have any prior medical training before enrolling in this CPR course and it is appropriate for both first-time learners and as a refresher course.
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that a CPR refresher course should be undertaken every 12 months, separately or as part of a First Aid refresher course.

In order to participate in one of our CPR courses in Perth you need to complete an application form and make full payment of all fees. There are no pre-requisite requirements to take this course.
For just two to three hours of your time you can learn a skill that can save lives. As it is a nationally recognised course you will need a basic level of physical competency to meet the necessary performance level required for this course. This means you need to be able to perform CPR on an adult and infant manikin placed on the floor or hard surface for a period of two minutes and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.
