HLTAID009 Provide CPR

Our Courses Units of competency HLTAID009 Provide CPR

CPR training and refresher courses in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

Most victims of sudden cardiac arrest will die before they reach the hospital. It has however, been proven that if more people knew CPR, many of these victims could be saved. By completing a CPR training course and performing CPR on a heart attack victim, you could double their chances of surviving the attack.

While we encourage all adults to complete at least a first aid course. Even if you just do a CPR course, you never know whose life you could end up saving.

What is CPR?

CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is the technique of chest compressions combined with rescue breathing.

Carrying out CPR as a part of basic life support may lead to saving someone’s life. Training in CPR allows you to manually preserve brain function until specialised treatment becomes available.

You are not required to have any prior medical training before enrolling in this CPR course and it is appropriate for both first-time learners and as a refresher course.

The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that a CPR refresher course should be undertaken every 12 months, separately or as part of a First Aid  refresher course.

Bestwest Care is a specialised, registered training facility offering a range of aged care, health care, first aid, and CPR training courses.
