The CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support takes your skills to the next level – equipping you to deliver advanced, person-centred support to people with disabilities across community, residential, and outreach settings.
This qualification builds on the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and is designed for those ready to take on more complex support needs, greater responsibility, and more specialised roles within the disability sector. It is also well-suited to those with experience working with people with disabilities in an aged care or community setting.
The course can be completed in as little as 14 weeks through in-person study, or at your own pace over up to 18 months with no placement required, as all practical components are completed in the classroom.

Training Location
Bestwest Care is a trusted provider of disability support training in WA, offering nationally recognised courses that prepare students for hands-on roles in community, residential, and outreach settings. Classes are held at Unit 8 / 40 Meares Ave, Kwinana, Western Australia – conveniently located close to bus and train connections.

Course Delivery
The CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support course is self-paced and you can enrol at anytime of the year.
The course duration can take between 14 weeks (in person) to 18 months, depending on individual commitment and experience in the field.
Delivery can be via a flexible combination of:
- Classroom sessions
- Simulation in-class scenarios
- Home study
You may apply for Recognised Prior Learning (RPL), if you have achieved any level of skills and knowledge equivalent to the learning outcomes (resume, letter from employer etc). Credit Transfers are available if you have successfully completed any of the current unit/s.

Enrolment requirements
Enrolment into CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support requires the following:
- Completion of CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or
- Completion of CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or
- CHC30408 Completion of Certificate III in Disability plus CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability skill set.
To enrol in this course you must:
- Be an Australian Resident or Citizen, or have an appropriate visa to study this accredited certificate.
- Be reasonably fit and physically capable of performing the role.
- Meet the foundation skills (literacy and numeracy levels) necessary for the role.
- National Police Clearance certificate.
- Be able to sign a Statutory Declaration about criminal history at enrolment.
- USI Number (Unique Student Identifier). If you don’t have one, you can apply online www.usi.gov.au.
Your Enrolment Appointment
Please bring the following to your enrolment appointment:
- Phone and book your enrolment appointment with a member of our training staff on (08) 9439 1673.
- Provide Photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport)
- Provide Proof of Residency / Citizenship (Birth Certificate / Passport).
- Deposit of $600 deposit to secure enrolment
Lower-Fee Training 2026 Eligibility
The WA State Government, through Jobs and Skills WA, subsidises vocational education and training (VET) courses in priority areas, to reduce or remove the fees and make training more accessible to all Western Australians.
Applicants will be required to submit valid forms of photo ID and proof of citizenship / residency status at enrolment. To be eligible for Lower Fee training, you must have left school, have your primary place of residence in Western Australia, and are either:
- an Australian citizen; or
- a permanent visa holder or holder of visa subclass 309, 444, 449, 785, 786, 790, or 820; or
- a dependent or spouse of the primary holder of a visa subclass 457 or 482; or
- a bridging visa holder who has made a valid application for a visa subclass 866; or
- a bridging visa E holder (subclasses 050 and 051) who has made a valid application for a visa subclass 785 or 790.
Course fees for applicants not meeting the above eligibility criteria are $2,700.

As part of your training, you’ll complete a selection of elective units that deepen your understanding of inclusive, person-centred care. These electives are designed to complement your core skills and broaden your impact across diverse support settings:
- CHCADV001 Facilitate the interests and rights of clients
- CHCDIV002 Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture
- HLTAAP002 Confirm physical health status
Course Fees
The total cost for this course is $2,700.
- Enrolment deposit of $1,000
- Plus 6 monthly repayments paid over 6 months
Government-Funded Option Available
‘Lower-fee’ Government funding is available for eligible students, including Australian citizens and certain visa holders. The course fees for the student-types who qualify are:
- Concession: $261.60
- Non-concession $882.90
