Technical Skills for Care Workers

This technical skills course is suitable for Enrolled Nurses, Care Workers and for Nursing students.

About this course
This course is aimed at Care Workers and Enrolled Nurses who wish to maintain or refresh their skills.

The workshop includes

Vital signs including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
Pulse oximetry
Blood glucose monitoring
Tube feeding
Oxygen therapy
Compression stockings
Urinalysis
Stoma Care
Catheter care
Basic wound care
Oral care

Course Structure
This course is a full day course consisting of theory, practical skills, scenarios and activities.
A Statement of Participation is issued on completion.

Professional Development
Enrolled nurses may claim 6.5 hours of PD for this course

Frequently asked questions
How is the course constructed? The clinical skills course is run from 9.00am to 4.00pm and includes both theory and practical assessment.
How often is the course run?
Monthly or more often as required.

This course can also be conducted onsite at workplaces if appropriatefacilities are available and a minimum number of attendees is achieved.
