This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home and community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisational guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

These workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

Prerequisites

  • Attend an enrollment meeting with a member of our training staff.
  • Hold a current national police certificate and working with children check (if requiring work placement).
  • Be reasonably fit and physically capable of performing the role.
  • Meet the foundation skills ( literacy and numeracy levels) necessary to perform in the role.
  • Be eligible to participate in training in Australia.

How is the course constructed?
The course is completed flexibly with regular presentations for all units within our training rooms and some work being completed at home. This flexible approach ensures that our learners are able to get assistance and clarification on any area of work.

What if I miss a day?
Arrangements will be made for you to complete the missed session with another group or in an alternative manner.

What if I have a lot of experience?
Bestwest Care recognises prior learning. The process of applying for and approval of recognition of prior learning is explained prior to enrolment.

What if I have done some other units previously?
If you have completed a particular unit, you can claim an exemption. The process is explained to you during enrolment.
